How We Started

 

Strikers Baseball started in 2007 with a few people wanting to give our children a better environment for learning and playing baseball.  We, as parents, did not see the value of letting our athletes play in a non-positive atmosphere.  Head Coach Bobby Smith's values and unique story are the main reasons he was chosen to lead the organization.  He has a powerful testimony from his childhood about how he came from a broken home that was stricken by poverty.  He later became the first to attend college and later played professional baseball.  From his experience, Coach Bobby knows the value of hard work and someone taking the time to invest in his growth as an athlete. 

 

Baseball is still a game, and that is what we want to relay to our kids.   "Have fun."  Our main mission, besides playing the game we all love, is to give back to the community, whether that is financially, by serving others, or by doing volunteer work.  In the beginning of this program, we had two requirements for the Strikers team; child development and community development.  

 

We will give back to our community!
